i am in such a good mood, it's absurd. this is why today has been great:
- My green drink was exceptionally smooth today
- My eggs were cooked perfectly, and I actually ate them. I make eggs often in an attempt to eat a breakfasty breakfast food (normally I hate all breakfast foods) and I usually throw them away after 1 bite. Not today!
- My car drives! And has new tires! And the key comes out of the ignition!
- My drive started very shittily with lots of snow and ice and fog, and then after I passed the Sundance turn-off, dry roads the whole way to Park City. Nothing comforts my auto-retarded soul than dry roads.
- The radio picked Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, Journey, and Guns & Roses. Seriously. And Hollaback Girl ended as I pulled in the garage.
- I was car dancing the whole drive, and this sounds crazy, but the ice that was still stuck to my windsheild was totally dancing (slash bouncing and rattling) right on cue with the bass. dance partay.
- Then, a truck full of guys honked and me and mouthed flirtatious words. Some days, this would offend me, but today was more of a "hell yes, I will totally wink at you across route-40 as we drive in unison, and I'll flash a peace sign because, I agree, my hair is awesome today and Marc Jacobs does make gorgeous sunnies."
- And when I thought I was running 20 minutes late, I noticed that I was actually running early and that my car clock had just been changed. Funny trick, uncle Gil.
- There have been so many Panamanians in the lobby today, it feels like being in a busy Centro in Mexico City, except everyone is related to each other, and wearing Louis Vuitton and Prada... and 6-inch Louboutin's despite the fact that it's sleeting outside.
- A funny thing about Panamanians is that they remind me of Jewish Italian-Americans, but they are ruder and louder and funner. And prettier. Ironically, they will only eat at Italian restaurants.
- And their kids turned a game of Candy Land into a battlefield. The whole game was torn to shreds, and chewed up and spit out.
- And one of the kids sat with me at the desk, picking up the phone every time it rang and handing it to me saying "te llamo" What a good helper (wearing Armani sneakers, btw.)
